इन्द्रियाणि पराण्याहुरिन्द्रियेभ्यः परं मनः | मनसस्तु परा बुद्धिर्यो बुद्धेः परतस्तु सः
indriyāṇi parāṇyāhurindriyebhyaḥ paraṃ manaḥ . manasastu parā buddhiryo buddheḥ paratastu saḥ
ఇంద్రియాలు (స్థూల శరీరం కంటే) గొప్పవని అంటారు; ఇంద్రియాల కంటే మనస్సు గొప్పది; మనస్సు కంటే బుద్ధి గొప్పది. అయితే, బుద్ధి కంటే పరమైనది ఆ ఆత్మయే.
They say that the organs are superior (to the gross body); the mind is superior to the organs; but the intellect is superior to the mind. However, the one who is superior to the intellect is He.
స్థూలమైన, బాహ్యమైన మరియు పరిమితమైన భౌతిక శరీరం కంటే ఇంద్రియాలు నిస్సందేహంగా గొప్పవి, ఎందుకంటే అవి మరింత సూక్ష్మమైనవి, అంతర్గతమైనవి మరియు విస్తృతమైన కార్యకలాపాలను కలిగి ఉంటాయి. ఇంద్రియాలు మనస్సు సహాయం లేకుండా స్వతంత్రంగా ఏమీ చేయలేవు కాబట్టి మనస్సు ఇంద్రియాల కంటే గొప్పది. మనస్సు ఐదు ఇంద్రియాల విధులను నిర్వర్తించగలదు. బుద్ధి విచక్షణ శక్తితో కూడి ఉంటుంది కాబట్టి మనస్సు కంటే గొప్పది. మనస్సు సందేహంలో ఉన్నప్పుడు, బుద్ధి దాని సహాయానికి వస్తుంది. ఆత్మ, సాక్షి, బుద్ధి కంటే కూడా గొప్పది, ఎందుకంటే బుద్ధి ఆత్మ నుండి తన కాంతిని పొందుతుంది.
When compared with the physical body which is gross? external and limited? the senses are certainly superior as they are more subtle? internal and have a wider range of activity. The mind is superior to the senses? as the senses cannot do anything independently without the help of the mind. The mind can perform the functions of the five senses. The intellect is superior to the mind because it is endowed with the faculty of discrimination. When the mind is in a state of doubt? the intellect comes to its resuce. The Self? the Witness? is superior even to the intellect? as the intellect borrows its light from the Self.
