यज्ञार्थात्कर्मणोऽन्यत्र लोकोऽयं कर्मबन्धनः | तदर्थं कर्म कौन्तेय मुक्तसङ्गः समाचर
yajñārthātkarmaṇo.anyatra loko.ayaṃ karmabandhanaḥ . tadarthaṃ karma kaunteya muktasaṅgaḥ samācara
యజ్ఞార్థమైన కర్మ తప్ప ఇతర కర్మలచే ఈ లోకం బంధించబడుతుంది. కాబట్టి, కౌంతేయా, నీవు సంగరహితుడవై ఆ యజ్ఞార్థమైన కర్మను ఆచరించు.
This man becomes bound by actions other than that action meant for God. Without being attached, O son of Kunti, you perform actions for Him.
యజ్ఞం అంటే త్యాగం, ధార్మిక కర్మ లేదా స్వార్థరహితమైన, స్వచ్ఛమైన ఉద్దేశ్యంతో చేసే ఏ కర్మ అయినా. యజ్ఞం అంటే ఈశ్వరుడు అని కూడా అర్థం. తైత్తిరీయ సంహిత "యజ్ఞం విష్ణువే" అని చెబుతుంది. ఎవరైతే భగవంతుని కొరకు కర్మలు చేస్తారో, వారు బంధింపబడరు. భగవంతుని కొరకు కర్మలు చేయడం వల్ల వారి హృదయం శుద్ధి అవుతుంది. ఈ స్వార్థరహిత భావం లేని కర్మ ఎంత మంచిదైనా, గొప్పదైనా సంసార బంధానికి కారణమవుతుంది. Yajna means sacrifice or religious rite or any unselfish action done with a pure motive. It means also Isvara. The Taittiriya Samhita (of the Veda) says Yajna verily is Vishnu (174). If anyone does actions for the sake of the Lord? he is not bound. His heart is purified by performing actions for the sake of the Lord. Where this spirit of unselfishness does not govern the action? it will bind one to Samsara however good or glorious it may be. (Cf.II.48).
