न मां कर्माणि लिम्पन्ति न मे कर्मफले स्पृहा | इति मां योऽभिजानाति कर्मभिर्न स बध्यते
na māṃ karmāṇi limpanti na me karmaphale spṛhā . iti māṃ yo.abhijānāti karmabhirna sa badhyate
കർമ്മങ്ങൾ എന്നെ മലിനമാക്കുന്നില്ല; കർമ്മഫലങ്ങളിൽ എനിക്ക് ആഗ്രഹമില്ല. ഇപ്രകാരം എന്നെ അറിയുന്നവൻ കർമ്മങ്ങളാൽ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ല.
Actions do not taint Me; for Me there is no hankering for the results of actions. One who knows Me thus, does not become bound by actions.
എനിക്ക് അഹംഭാവമോ ഫലങ്ങളോടുള്ള ആഗ്രഹമോ ഇല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ കർമ്മങ്ങളാൽ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ല. ലൗകികരായ ആളുകൾ തങ്ങളാണ് കർത്താക്കളെന്ന് വിചാരിച്ച് കർമ്മങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നു, ഫലങ്ങൾ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും ജനിക്കുന്നു. ആസക്തിയില്ലാതെയും അഹംഭാവമില്ലാതെയും ഫലങ്ങൾ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാതെയും കർമ്മം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ കർമ്മങ്ങളാൽ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ല. അവൻ ജനനമരണങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് മുക്തനാകും.
As I have neither egoism nor desire for fruits? I am not bound by actions. Wordly people think they are the agents and they perfrom actions. They also expect fruits for their actions. So they take birth again and again. If one works without attachment? without egoism? without expectation of fruits? he too will not be bound by actions. He will be freed from birth and death. (Cf.IX.9).
