अमी च त्वां धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्राः सर्वे सहैवावनिपालसङ्घैः | भीष्मो द्रोणः सूतपुत्रस्तथासौ सहास्मदीयैरपि योधमुख्यैः
amī ca tvāṃ dhṛtarāṣṭrasya putrāḥ sarve sahaivāvanipālasaṅghaiḥ . bhīṣmo droṇaḥ sūtaputrastathāsau sahāsmadīyairapi yodhamukhyaiḥ
ధృతరాష్ట్రుని పుత్రులందరూ, భూపాలకుల సమూహాలతో సహా, నిన్ను ప్రవేశిస్తున్నారు. భీష్ముడు, ద్రోణుడు, ఆ సూతపుత్రుడు (కర్ణుడు) కూడా, మా ముఖ్య యోధులతో సహా.
And into You (enter) all those sons of Dhrtarastra along with multitudes of the rulers of the earth; (also) Bhisma, Drona and that son of a Suta (Karna), together with even our prominent warriors.
కర్ణుడు పాండవుల తల్లి కుంతి కుమారుడైనప్పటికీ, ఒక రథసారథిచే పెంచబడ్డాడు, అందువల్ల అతని కుమారుడిగా పరిగణించబడ్డాడు. ఈ శ్లోకంలో, యుద్ధంలో పాల్గొన్న ముఖ్యులందరూ భగవంతుని విశ్వరూపంలో లీనమవుతున్న దృశ్యాన్ని అర్జునుడు చూస్తున్నాడు.
Karna? though he was the son of Kunti? the mother of the Pandavas? was brought up by a charioteer and hence came to be regarded as his son.
