यस्त्वात्मरतिरेव स्यादात्मतृप्तश्च मानवः | आत्मन्येव च सन्तुष्टस्तस्य कार्यं न विद्यते
yastvātmaratireva syādātmatṛptaśca mānavaḥ . ātmanyeva ca santuṣṭastasya kāryaṃ na vidyate
Doch der Mensch, der sich nur am Selbst (Atman) erfreut, im Selbst (Atman) zufrieden ist und nur im Selbst (Atman) Genüge findet – für ihn gibt es keine Pflicht zu erfüllen.
But that man who rejoices only in theSelf and is satisfied with the Self, and is contented only in the Self-for him there is no duty to perform.
Der Weise ist für sein Glück nicht von äußeren Objekten abhängig. Er ist vollkommen zufrieden im Selbst (Atman). Er findet seine Freude, Glückseligkeit und Zufriedenheit in seinem eigenen Selbst. Für einen solchen Weisen, der das Wissen vom Selbst besitzt, gibt es nichts mehr zu tun. Er hat bereits alle Handlungen vollbracht, alle seine Wünsche erfüllt und vollständige Zufriedenheit erlangt. The sage does not depend on external objects for his happiness. He is ite satisfied with the Self. He finds his joy? bliss and contentment within his own Self. For such a sage who has knowledge of the Self? there is nothing to do. He has already done all actions. He has satisfied all his desires. He has complete satisfaction. (Cf.II.55).
