यज्ञार्थात्कर्मणोऽन्यत्र लोकोऽयं कर्मबन्धनः | तदर्थं कर्म कौन्तेय मुक्तसङ्गः समाचर
yajñārthātkarmaṇo.anyatra loko.ayaṃ karmabandhanaḥ . tadarthaṃ karma kaunteya muktasaṅgaḥ samācara
Diese Welt ist durch Handlungen gebunden, außer durch jene, die für yajña bestimmt sind. Darum, o Kaunteya, verrichte Handlungen für Ihn, frei von Anhaftung.
This man becomes bound by actions other than that action meant for God. Without being attached, O son of Kunti, you perform actions for Him.
Yajña bedeutet Opfer oder religiöses Ritual oder jede selbstlose Handlung, die mit reinem Motiv ausgeführt wird. Es bedeutet auch Īśvara. Die Taittirīya-Saṃhitā (des Veda) sagt: 'Yajña ist wahrlich Viṣṇu' (1.7.4). Wenn jemand Handlungen um des Herrn willen tut, ist er nicht gebunden. Sein Herz wird durch das Ausführen von Handlungen um des Herrn willen gereinigt. Wo dieser Geist der Selbstlosigkeit die Handlung nicht bestimmt, wird sie einen an Samsara binden, so gut oder glorreich sie auch sein mag. (Vgl. II.48).
Yajna means sacrifice or religious rite or any unselfish action done with a pure motive. It means also Isvara. The Taittiriya Samhita (of the Veda) says Yajna verily is Vishnu (174). If anyone does actions for the sake of the Lord? he is not bound. His heart is purified by performing actions for the sake of the Lord. Where this spirit of unselfishness does not govern the action? it will bind one to Samsara however good or glorious it may be. (Cf.II.48).
