नैव तस्य कृतेनार्थो नाकृतेनेह कश्चन | न चास्य सर्वभूतेषु कश्चिदर्थव्यपाश्रयः
naiva tasya kṛtenārtho nākṛteneha kaścana . na cāsya sarvabhūteṣu kaścidarthavyapāśrayaḥ
Für ihn gibt es hier keinerlei Belang mit dem Verrichten von Handlung; noch irgendeinen (Belang) mit dem Nichtverrichten. Auch gibt es für ihn keine Abhängigkeit von irgendeinem Objekt, um einen Zweck zu erfüllen.
For him there is no concern here at all with performing action; nor any (concern) with nonperformance. Moreover, for him there is no dependence on any object to serve any purpose.
Der Weise, der sich so im Selbst (Atman) erfreut, gewinnt nichts durch das Ausführen irgendeiner Handlung. Für ihn wird durch eine Handlung kein wirklicher Zweck erfüllt. Auch kann ihn kein Übel (Pratyavāya Doṣa) durch Untätigkeit treffen. Er verliert nichts durch Untätigkeit. Er muss sich auf niemanden verlassen, um ein bestimmtes Ziel zu erreichen, und er muss sich nicht anstrengen, um die Gunst von jemandem zu erlangen.
The sage who is thus rejoicing in the Self does not gain anything by doing any action. For him really no purpose is served by an action. No evil (Pratyavaya Dosha) can touch him from inaction. He does not lose anything from inaction. He need not depend upon anybody to gain a particular object. He need not exert himself to get the favour of anybody.
