सहयज्ञाः प्रजाः सृष्ट्वा पुरोवाच प्रजापतिः | अनेन प्रसविष्यध्वमेष वोऽस्त्विष्टकामधुक्
sahayajñāḥ prajāḥ sṛṣṭvā purovāca prajāpatiḥ . anena prasaviṣyadhvameṣa vo.astviṣṭakāmadhuk
Einst, nachdem Prajāpati die Geschöpfe zusammen mit den Yajñas erschaffen hatte, sprach er: 'Durch dies möget ihr euch mehren. Dies sei euch die Erfüllerin eurer Wünsche.'
In the days of yore, having created the beings together with the sacrifices, Prajapati said: 'By this you multiply. Let this be your yielder of coveted objects of desire.'
Prajāpati ist der Schöpfer oder Brahmā. Kāmadhuk ist ein anderer Name für die Kuh Kāmadhenu. Kāmadhenu ist die Kuh Indras, von der jeder melken kann, was immer er begehrt. (Vgl. VIII.4, IX.24-27, X.25).
Prajapati is the Creator or Brahma. Kamadhuk is another name for the cow Kamadhenu. Kamadhenu is the cow of Indra from which everyone can milk whatever one desires. (Cf.VIII.4IX.2427X.25).
