आयुधानामहं वज्रं धेनूनामस्मि कामधुक् | प्रजनश्चास्मि कन्दर्पः सर्पाणामस्मि वासुकिः
āyudhānāmahaṃ vajraṃ dhenūnāmasmi kāmadhuk . prajanaścāsmi kandarpaḥ sarpāṇāmasmi vāsukiḥ
ہتھیاروں میں میں وَجر ہوں، گایوں میں میں کامدھُک (کامدھینو) ہوں۔ میں پرجنن (پیدا کرنے والا) کَندَرپ ہوں، اور سانپوں میں میں واسُوکی ہوں۔
Among weapons I am the thunderbolt; among cows I am kamadhenu. I am Kandarpa, the Progenitor, and among serpents I am Vasuki.
وَجر، رشی دَدھیچی کی ہڈیوں سے بنا ہوا ایک ہتھیار ہے، جو صرف اِندر ہی استعمال کر سکتا ہے جس نے سو یَگیہ مکمل کیے ہوں۔ کامدھُک، عظیم رشی وَسِشٹھ کی گائے کامدھینو ہے جو تمام مطلوبہ اشیاء دیتی تھی، یہ بھی دودھ کے سمندر سے پیدا ہوئی تھی۔ کَندَرپ کامدیو ہے۔ واسُوکی بغیر پھن والے یا عام سانپوں کا سردار ہے۔ سَرپ (سانپ) کا صرف ایک سر ہوتا ہے۔ واسُوکی پیلے رنگ کا ہے۔ ناگوں کے کئی سر ہوتے ہیں۔ اَنَنت آگ کے رنگ کا ہے۔ شریدھر کہتے ہیں کہ سَرپ زہریلا ہوتا ہے اور ناگ غیر زہریلا۔ شری رامانوجا کہتے ہیں کہ سَرپ کا صرف ایک سر ہوتا ہے اور ناگ کے کئی سر ہوتے ہیں۔

Sri Ramanuja says that Sarpa has only one head and Naga has many heads.
