न त्वेवाहं जातु नासं न त्वं नेमे जनाधिपाः | न चैव न भविष्यामः सर्वे वयमतः परम्
na tvevāhaṃ jātu nāsaṃ na tvaṃ neme janādhipāḥ . na caiva na bhaviṣyāmaḥ sarve vayamataḥ param
ഞാൻ ഒരു കാലത്തും ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല, നീയും ഈ രാജാക്കന്മാരും ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല. ഇതിനുശേഷം നമ്മളെല്ലാവരും ഇല്ലാതാവുകയുമില്ല.
But certainly (it is) not (a fact) that I did not exist at any time; nor you, nor these rulers of men. And surely it is not that we all shall cease to exist after this.
ഭഗവാൻ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണൻ ആത്മാവിൻ്റെ നിത്യതയെയും അമരത്വത്തെയും കുറിച്ച് ഇവിടെ വിശദീകരിക്കുന്നു. ആത്മാവ് ഭൂതകാലത്തിലും വർത്തമാനകാലത്തിലും ഭാവികാലത്തിലും നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു. ഭൗതിക ശരീരത്തിൻ്റെ മരണശേഷം പോലും ആത്മാവ് നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു.
-- Lord Krishna speaks here of the immortality of the Soul or the imperishable nature of the Self (Atman). The Soul exists in the three periods of time (past? present and future). Man continues to exist even after the death of the physical body. There is life beyond.
