न मां कर्माणि लिम्पन्ति न मे कर्मफले स्पृहा | इति मां योऽभिजानाति कर्मभिर्न स बध्यते
na māṃ karmāṇi limpanti na me karmaphale spṛhā . iti māṃ yo.abhijānāti karmabhirna sa badhyate
Les actions ne Me souillent pas ; Je n'ai aucun désir pour les fruits des actions. Celui qui Me connaît ainsi n'est pas lié par les actions.
Actions do not taint Me; for Me there is no hankering for the results of actions. One who knows Me thus, does not become bound by actions.
Comme Je n'ai ni égoïsme ni désir de fruits, Je ne suis pas lié par les actions. Les gens du monde pensent qu'ils sont les agents et qu'ils accomplissent des actions. Ils attendent aussi des fruits pour leurs actions. Ainsi, ils renaissent encore et encore. Si l'on travaille sans attachement, sans égoïsme, sans attente de fruits, on ne sera pas non plus lié par les actions. On sera libéré de la naissance et de la mort.
As I have neither egoism nor desire for fruits? I am not bound by actions. Wordly people think they are the agents and they perfrom actions. They also expect fruits for their actions. So they take birth again and again. If one works without attachment? without egoism? without expectation of fruits? he too will not be bound by actions. He will be freed from birth and death. (Cf.IX.9).
