ಭಗವದ್ಗೀತೆ 7.3

ಆತ್ಮಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಅಥವಾ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮವನ್ನು ಅದರ ಸಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಿಯುವುದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಕಷ್ಟ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ. 'ಸಿದ್ಧನಾಂ' ಅಕ್ಷರಶಃ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣತೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದವರು (ಸಿದ್ಧರು) ಎಂದರ್ಥ, ಆದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಶ್ರಮಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ವಜ್ರಗಳು, ಮಾಣಿಕ್ಯಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಮುತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸುವವರು ಕೆಲವೇ. ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡುವವರು ಕೆಲವೇ. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ, ಆತ್ಮಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುವವರು ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅದರ ಸಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಅರಿಯುವವರು ಕೆಲವೇ. ವಿಮುಕ್ತರು (ಜೀವನ್ಮುಕ್ತರು) ಅಪರೂಪ. ನಿಜವಾದ ಸಾಧಕರು ಸಹ ಅಪರೂಪ. ಆತ್ಮಜ್ಞಾನವು ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಫಲಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಅವುಗಳೆಂದರೆ, ಅಮರತ್ವ, ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಆನಂದ, ನಿರಂತರ ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಶಾಂತಿ. ಈ ಆತ್ಮಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವುದು ಬಹಳ ಕಷ್ಟ. ಆದರೆ ದೃಢ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ಮತ್ತು ದೃಢ ನಿರ್ಧಾರದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ, ಮತ್ತು ಮೋಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾಧನಗಳಿಂದ ಸಜ್ಜುಗೊಂಡ ಉತ್ತಮ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷಿ (ಸಾಧಕ) ಆತ್ಮಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದು.

Mark how difficult it is to attain to the knowledge of the Self or to how Brahman in essence. Siddhanam literally means those who have attained to perfection (the perfected ones) but here it means only those who strive to attain perfection.Those who purchase diamonds? rubies or pearls are few. Those who study the postgraduate course are few. Even so those who attempt for Selfrealisation and who actually know the Truth in essence are few only. The liberated ones (Jivanmuktas) are rare. Real Sadhakas are also rare. The,knowledge of the Self bestows incalculable fruits on man? viz.? immortality? eternal bliss? perennial joy and everlasting peace. It is very difficult to attain to this knowledge of the Self. But a good and earnest spiritual aspirant (Sadhaka) who is endowed with a strong determination and iron resolve? and who is eipped with the four means to salvation can easily obtain the knowledge of the Self.
