यज्ञार्थात्कर्मणोऽन्यत्र लोकोऽयं कर्मबन्धनः | तदर्थं कर्म कौन्तेय मुक्तसङ्गः समाचर
yajñārthātkarmaṇo.anyatra loko.ayaṃ karmabandhanaḥ . tadarthaṃ karma kaunteya muktasaṅgaḥ samācara
Les êtres de ce monde sont liés par les actions autres que celles accomplies pour le Yajna (le sacrifice). Sans attachement, ô fils de Kunti, accomplis l'action pour Lui.
This man becomes bound by actions other than that action meant for God. Without being attached, O son of Kunti, you perform actions for Him.
Yajna signifie sacrifice ou rite religieux ou toute action désintéressée faite avec une intention pure. Cela signifie aussi Ishvara. La Taittiriya Samhita (du Véda) dit : « Yajna est véritablement Vishnou » (1.7.4). Si quelqu'un accomplit des actions pour le Seigneur, il n'est pas lié. Son cœur est purifié en accomplissant des actions pour le Seigneur. Là où cet esprit de désintéressement ne gouverne pas l'action, celle-ci liera l'individu au Samsara, aussi bonne ou glorieuse qu'elle puisse être. (Cf. II.48).
Yajna means sacrifice or religious rite or any unselfish action done with a pure motive. It means also Isvara. The Taittiriya Samhita (of the Veda) says Yajna verily is Vishnu (174). If anyone does actions for the sake of the Lord? he is not bound. His heart is purified by performing actions for the sake of the Lord. Where this spirit of unselfishness does not govern the action? it will bind one to Samsara however good or glorious it may be. (Cf.II.48).
