रागी कर्मफलप्रेप्सुर्लुब्धो हिंसात्मकोऽशुचिः | हर्षशोकान्वितः कर्ता राजसः परिकीर्तितः
rāgī karmaphalaprepsurlubdho hiṃsātmako.aśuciḥ . harṣaśokānvitaḥ kartā rājasaḥ parikīrtitaḥ
L'agent qui a de l'attachement, qui désire les résultats des actions, avide, cruel par nature, impur et sujet à la joie et à la tristesse, est déclaré posséder rajas.
The agent who has attachment, who is desirous of the results of actions, covetous, cruel by nature, unclean and subject to joy and sorrow is declared to be possessed of rajas.
Un agent passionné (rājasique) est le réceptacle des péchés et de la cupidité du monde entier. Partout où il imagine pouvoir obtenir un fruit mondain, il s'efforcera de l'obtenir de tout son cœur. Tout ce qu'il gagne, il le garde strictement pour lui et sa famille. S'il obtient les fruits de ses actions, il se réjouit. S'il échoue dans son entreprise, il est accablé de chagrin. 'Lubdhaḥ' signifie avide, assoiffé des biens d'autrui, ne partageant pas sa propre richesse avec des personnes méritantes. 'Hiṃsātmakaḥ' signifie cruel, causant du tort aux autres. 'Aśuciḥ' signifie impur, n'ayant aucune pureté externe et interne (la pureté interne étant l'absence de luxure, de colère, de cupidité et d'orgueil, le cœur étant rempli de compassion, de complaisance, de pardon, de détachement, d'amour, etc.). 'Harṣaśokānvitaḥ' signifie ému par la joie et la tristesse, exalté par le succès et accablé par le chagrin en cas d'échec.
A passionate agent is the abode of sins and of greed of the whole world. Wherever he imagines that he may gain worldly fruit he will strive wholeheartedly to obtain it.
