द्यावापृथिव्योरिदमन्तरं हि व्याप्तं त्वयैकेन दिशश्च सर्वाः | दृष्ट्वाद्भुतं रूपमुग्रं तवेदं लोकत्रयं प्रव्यथितं महात्मन्
dyāvāpṛthivyoridamantaraṃ hi vyāptaṃ tvayaikena diśaśca sarvāḥ . dṛṣṭvādbhutaṃ rūpamugraṃ tavedaṃ lokatrayaṃ pravyathitaṃ mahātman
En vérité, cet espace intermédiaire entre le ciel et la terre, ainsi que toutes les directions, sont imprégnés par Toi seul. Ô Être exalté, les trois mondes sont saisis de peur en voyant cette forme étrange et redoutable qui est Tienne.
Indeed, this intermediate space between heaven and earth as also all the directions are pervaded by You alone. O exalted One, the three worlds are struck with fear by seeing this strange, fearful form of Yours.
Toi, dans Ta Forme Cosmique. L'espace et les directions : Cela signifie que le Seigneur a rempli tout l'univers des objets animés et inanimés. Afin de dissiper le doute d'Arjuna quant à son succès (cf. II.6), le Seigneur Krishna lui fait sentir maintenant que la victoire des Pandavas est certaine.
