त्वमादिदेवः पुरुषः पुराणस्- त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम् | वेत्तासि वेद्यं च परं च धाम त्वया ततं विश्वमनन्तरूप
tvamādidevaḥ puruṣaḥ purāṇasa- tvamasya viśvasya paraṃ nidhānam . vettāsi vedyaṃ ca paraṃ ca dhāma tvayā tataṃ viśvamanantarūpa
Du bist die ursprüngliche Gottheit, die uralte Person; Du bist die höchste Zuflucht dieser Welt. Du bist der Wissende wie auch das Objekt des Wissens und die höchste Wohnstätte. O Du von unendlichen Formen, das Universum ist von Dir durchdrungen!
You are the primal Deity, the ancient Person; You are the supreme Resort of this world. You are the knower as also the object of knowledge, and the supreme Abode. O You of infinite forms, the Universe is pervaded by You!
Urgott, weil der Herr der Schöpfer des Universums ist. Purusha, weil der Herr im Körper (Puri Sayanat) ruht. Nidhaanam ist das, worin die Welt während der großen Sintflut oder kosmischen Auflösung ruht. Der Topf entsteht aus dem Ton und verschmilzt wieder mit dem Ton. Ebenso ist die Welt aus dem Herrn hervorgegangen und löst sich in Ihm auf oder ist in Ihm enthalten. So ist der Herr die materielle Ursache der Welt. Daher ist Er der Urgott und auch die höchste Zuflucht. Vetta ist der Kenner der wissbaren Dinge. Da der Herr allwissend ist, weiß Er alles über die Welt, und Er ist die instrumentelle oder wirksame Ursache dieser Welt. Param Dhama ist die höchste Wohnstätte Vishnus. So wie das Seil (das Substrat für die überlagerte Schlange) die Schlange durchdringt, so durchdringt auch Brahman oder Vishnu durch Seine Natur als Existenz-Wissen-Glückseligkeit Absolut das gesamte Universum.
