ಭಗವದ್ಗೀತೆ 10.37

वृष्णीनां वासुदेवोऽस्मि पाण्डवानां धनञ्जयः | मुनीनामप्यहं व्यासः कवीनामुशना कविः

vṛṣṇīnāṃ vāsudevo.asmi pāṇḍavānāṃ dhanañjayaḥ . munīnāmapyahaṃ vyāsaḥ kavīnāmuśanā kaviḥ

ವೃಷ್ಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ವಾಸುದೇವ; ಪಾಂಡವರಲ್ಲಿ ಧನಂಜಯ (ಅರ್ಜುನ). ಮುನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ವ್ಯಾಸ; ಕವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಉಶನಾ ಕವಿ.

Of the vrsnis [The clan to which Sri krsna belonged, known otherwise as the Yadavas.] I am Vasudeva; of the Pandavas, Dhananjaya (Arjuna). And of the wise, I am Vyasa; of the omniscient, the omniscient Usanas.
