I am the kratu, I am the yajna, I am the svadha, I am the ausadha, I am the mantra, I Myself am the ajya, I am the fire, and I am the act of offering.
Kratu ist eine Art vedisches Opfer. Yajña ist die in den Smṛtis (heiligen Schriften) vorgeschriebene Verehrung. Ich bin das Mantra, der Gesang, mit dem die Opfergabe den Ahnen (Pitṛs) und den leuchtenden Wesen (Devatās) dargebracht wird. Hutam bedeutet auch der Akt des Darbringens.
