एवं परम्पराप्राप्तमिमं राजर्षयो विदुः | स कालेनेह महता योगो नष्टः परन्तप
evaṃ paramparāprāptamimaṃ rājarṣayo viduḥ . sa kāleneha mahatā yogo naṣṭaḥ parantapa
阿周那啊，这代代相传的瑜伽，昔日为王圣们所知。但由于漫长岁月的流逝，那瑜伽在此世已失传了。
The king-sages knew this (yoga) which was received thus in regular succession. That Yoga, O destroyer of foes, in now lost owing to a long lapse of time.
王圣们（Rajarshis）是指那些既是国王又是圣人的人，他们曾习得这种瑜伽。阿周那（Arjuna）能够像太阳一样，以其英勇和力量的热度焚烧或困扰他的敌人，因此他被称为“帕兰塔帕”（Parantapa，意为“摧敌者”）。
The royal sages Men who were kings and at the same time sages also? learnt this Yoga.Arjuna could burn or harass his foes? like the sun? by the heat of his valour and power. Hence the name Parantapa.
