स्वभावजेन कौन्तेय निबद्धः स्वेन कर्मणा | कर्तुं नेच्छसि यन्मोहात्करिष्यस्यवशोपि तत्
svabhāvajena kaunteya nibaddhaḥ svena karmaṇā . kartuṃ necchasi yanmohātkariṣyasyavaśopi tat
ఓ కుంతీపుత్రా, నీ స్వభావముచే పుట్టిన నీ కర్మచే బంధింపబడి, మోహముచే నీవు చేయదలచుకోని దానిని కూడా నిస్సహాయుడవై చేయగలవు.
Being bound by your own duty born of nature, O son of Kunti, you, being helpless, will verily do that which you do not wish to do owing to indiscrimination.
ఓ అర్జునా, నీవు శౌర్యము, పరాక్రమము, నైపుణ్యము వంటి క్షత్రియ గుణములతో కూడి ఉన్నావు. నీవు, నీ స్వభావముచే పుట్టిన ఈ గుణములచే బంధింపబడి ఉన్నావు. నీ స్వభావమే నిన్ను యుద్ధము చేయమని బలవంతం చేస్తుంది, నీ ఇష్టానికి వ్యతిరేకంగానైనా సరే.
Thou art endowed? O Arjuna? with martial alities? prowess? valour? skill? etc. Thou art? therefore? bound by these innate alities. Thou wilt be forced to fight by thy own nature. Nature will constrain thee to fight? much against thy will.
