अक्षराणामकारोऽस्मि द्वन्द्वः सामासिकस्य च | अहमेवाक्षयः कालो धाताहं विश्वतोमुखः
akṣarāṇāmakāro.asmi dvandvaḥ sāmāsikasya ca . ahamevākṣayaḥ kālo dhātāhaṃ viśvatomukhaḥ
எழுத்துக்களில் நான் 'அ'காரம்; சமாசங்களில் (கூட்டுச் சொற்களில்) நான் த்வந்த்வ சமாசம். நானே அழியாத காலம்; நான் எல்லாத் திசைகளிலும் முகம் கொண்ட விதா (படைப்பவன்/தாங்குபவன்).
Of the letters I am the letter a, and of the group of compund words I am (the compound called) Dvandva. [Dvandva: A compound of two or more words which, if not compounded, would stand in the same case and be connected by the conjunction 'and'.-Tr.] I Mayself am the infinite time; I am the Dispenser with faces everywhere.
எழுத்துக்களில் நான் 'அ'காரம். சம்ஸ்கிருத மொழியில் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் பல்வேறு வகையான சமாசங்களில் (கூட்டுச் சொற்களில்) நான் த்வந்த்வம் (இரண்டின் சேர்க்கை), அதாவது இணைக்கும் சமாசம். இங்கு காலம் என்பது கணத்தை, காலத்தின் இறுதி அலகை அல்லது காலத்திற்கும் காலமான பரமேஸ்வரனை, அதாவது காலத்திற்கு அப்பாற்பட்ட பரமபகவானைக் குறிக்கிறது. பரம்பொருள் எங்கும் நிறைந்திருப்பதால், அவர் எல்லாத் திசைகளிலும் முகங்களைக் கொண்டவர் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது.
Among the alphabets I am the letter A. Among the various kinds of compounds used in Sanskrit language I am the Dvandva (union of the two)? the copulative.Time here refers to the moment? the ultimate element of time or to Paramesvara? the Supreme Lord Who is the time of even time? since He is beyond time.As the Supreme Being is allpervading it is said that He has faces in all directions.
