कर्षयन्तः शरीरस्थं भूतग्राममचेतसः | मां चैवान्तःशरीरस्थं तान्विद्ध्यासुरनिश्चयान्
karṣayantaḥ śarīrasthaṃ bhūtagrāmamacetasaḥ . māṃ caivāntaḥśarīrasthaṃ tānviddhyāsuraniścayān
വിവേകമില്ലാത്തവർ ശരീരത്തിലുള്ള ഇന്ദ്രിയ സമൂഹത്തെയും, ശരീരത്തിനുള്ളിൽ വസിക്കുന്ന എന്നെയും പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ അസുരസ്വഭാവമുള്ളവരായി അറിയുക.
(And who,) being non-discriminating, torture, all the organs in the body as also even Me who reside in the body,-know them as possessed of demoniacal conviction.
ശരീരസ്ഥം ഭൂതഗ്രാമം എന്നാൽ ശരീരത്തെ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന എല്ലാ ഘടകങ്ങളുടെയും, അതായത് ഇന്ദ്രിയങ്ങളുടെയും കൂട്ടമാണ്. മാം എന്നത് ഇവിടെ വാസുദേവനായ എന്നെയാണ് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്, അവരുടെ ചിന്തകളുടെയും പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെയും സാക്ഷിയായ എന്നെ. എന്നെ ഇങ്ങനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ എന്റെ ഉപദേശങ്ങളെ പൂർണ്ണമായും അവഗണിക്കുന്നു. അചേതസഃ എന്നാൽ വിവേകമില്ലാത്തവർ, ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്തവർ, വിവേചനശക്തിയില്ലാത്തവർ എന്നെല്ലാമാണ് അർത്ഥം.
