मात्रास्पर्शास्तु कौन्तेय शीतोष्णसुखदुःखदाः | आगमापायिनोऽनित्यास्तांस्तितिक्षस्व भारत ||१४||
mātrā-sparśhās tu kaunteya śhītoṣhṇa-sukha-duḥkha-dāḥ āgamāpāyino 'nityās tāns titikṣhasva bhārata
ಓ ಕೌಂತೇಯ, ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವು ಶೀತ, ಉಷ್ಣ, ಸುಖ ಮತ್ತು ದುಃಖಗಳನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ, ಅವು ಅಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದವು – ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಸಹಿಸು, ಓ ಭಾರತ.
The contact of the senses with their objects gives rise to cold and heat, pleasure and pain. They come and go, they are temporary — endure them bravely, O Arjuna.
ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಒಂದು ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ: ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯ ಅನುಭವಗಳು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕವಾಗಿವೆ. ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಒಳನೋಟವೆಂದರೆ "ಆಗಮಾಪಾಯಿನಃ" (ಅವು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೋಗುತ್ತವೆ) ಮತ್ತು "ಅನಿತ್ಯಾಃ" (ಶಾಶ್ವತವಲ್ಲ). ಇದು ದಮನವಲ್ಲ – ಯಾವುದೇ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು. "ತಿತಿಕ್ಷಸ್ವ" ಎಂಬ ಸೂಚನೆಯು ಸಮಚಿತ್ತತೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
Krishna introduces a foundational concept: all sensory experiences are temporary. The key insight is "āgamāpāyinaḥ" (they come and go) and "anityāḥ" (not permanent). This is not suppression — it's understanding that no emotional state lasts forever. The instruction "titikṣhasva" means to develop equanimity.
