संन्यासस्तु महाबाहो दुःखमाप्तुमयोगतः | योगयुक्तो मुनिर्ब्रह्म नचिरेणाधिगच्छति
saṃnyāsastu mahābāho duḥkhamāptumayogataḥ . yogayukto munirbrahma nacireṇādhigacchati
Doch, o Mahabaho (Mächtiger), ist Saṃnyāsa (Entsagung) schwer ohne Yoga zu erlangen. Der Yoga-yukta (durch Yoga verbundene) Muni (Weise) erlangt Brahman (das Absolute) ohne Verzug.
But, O mighty-armed one, renunciation is hard to attain without (Karma-) yoga. The meditative man eipped with yoga attains Brahman without delay.
Ein Muni ist jemand, der Manana (Meditation oder Reflexion) betreibt. Yoga ist die Ausführung von Handlungen ohne eigennütziges Motiv als Opfergabe an den Herrn. Brahman bedeutet hier Entsagung oder Saṃnyāsa, weil Entsagung im Wissen vom Selbst besteht. Ein Muni, der Weise der Meditation, der durch Yoga harmonisiert, d.h. durch die Ausführung von Handlungen gereinigt ist, erlangt schnell Brahman, die wahre Entsagung, die Hingabe an das Wissen vom Selbst ist. Daher ist Karma-yoga besser. Er ist für einen Anfänger leicht. Er bereitet ihn auf den höheren Yoga vor, indem er seinen Geist reinigt.
Muni is one who does Manana (meditation or reflection). Yoga is performance of action without selfish motive as an offering unto the Lord.Brahman here signifies renunciation or Sannyasa because renunciation consists in the knowledge of the Self. A Muni? the sage of meditation? the Yogaharmonised? i.e.? purified by the performance of action? ickly attains Brahman? the true renunciation which is devotion to the knowledge of the Self. Therefore Karma Yoga is better. It is easy for a beginner. It prepares him for the higher Yoga by purifying his mind.
