यज्ञार्थात्कर्मणोऽन्यत्र लोकोऽयं कर्मबन्धनः | तदर्थं कर्म कौन्तेय मुक्तसङ्गः समाचर
yajñārthātkarmaṇo.anyatra loko.ayaṃ karmabandhanaḥ . tadarthaṃ karma kaunteya muktasaṅgaḥ samācara
یگیہ (قربانی) کے لیے کیے گئے عمل کے علاوہ، یہ دنیا عمل کے بندھن میں جکڑی ہوئی ہے۔ اے کونتی کے بیٹے (ارجن)، اس (خدا) کے لیے بے لگاؤ ہو کر عمل کرو۔
This man becomes bound by actions other than that action meant for God. Without being attached, O son of Kunti, you perform actions for Him.
یگیہ کا مطلب قربانی، مذہبی رسم، یا کسی بھی بے لوث عمل سے ہے جو پاکیزہ نیت سے کیا جائے۔ جو عمل خدا کی رضا کے لیے کیا جاتا ہے، وہ انسان کو بندھن میں نہیں ڈالتا بلکہ دل کو پاکیزہ کرتا ہے۔ اس کے برعکس، خود غرضی سے کیا گیا کوئی بھی عمل، چاہے وہ کتنا ہی اچھا کیوں نہ ہو، انسان کو دنیاوی چکر میں جکڑ دیتا ہے۔
Yajna means sacrifice or religious rite or any unselfish action done with a pure motive. It means also Isvara. The Taittiriya Samhita (of the Veda) says Yajna verily is Vishnu (174). If anyone does actions for the sake of the Lord? he is not bound. His heart is purified by performing actions for the sake of the Lord. Where this spirit of unselfishness does not govern the action? it will bind one to Samsara however good or glorious it may be. (Cf.II.48).
