यावानर्थ उदपाने सर्वतः सम्प्लुतोदके | तावान्सर्वेषु वेदेषु ब्राह्मणस्य विजानतः
yāvānartha udapāne sarvataḥ samplutodake . tāvānsarveṣu vedeṣu brāhmaṇasya vijānataḥ
నలువైపులా జలప్రళయం వచ్చినప్పుడు బావిలో ఎంత ప్రయోజనముండునో, ఆత్మజ్ఞానియైన బ్రాహ్మణునికి సమస్త వేదములందును అంతే ప్రయోజనముండును.
A Brahmana with realization has that much utility in all the Vedas as a man has in a well when there is a flood all around.
ఆత్మజ్ఞానం పొందిన జ్ఞానికి వేదములు నిష్ప్రయోజనములు. ఎందుకనగా, అతడు అనంతమైన ఆత్మజ్ఞానాన్ని కలిగి ఉంటాడు. అయితే, వేదములు ఆధ్యాత్మిక మార్గంలో ప్రారంభకులకు, సాధకులకు ఉపయోగకరమైనవి. వేదములచే నిర్దేశించబడిన కర్మల ద్వారా లభించే తాత్కాలిక సుఖాలన్నీ ఆత్మజ్ఞానం యొక్క అనంతమైన ఆనందంలో ఇమిడి ఉంటాయి.
Only for a sage who has realised the Self? the Vedas are of no use? because he is in possession of the infinite knowledge of the Self. This does not? however? mean that the Vedas are useless. They are useful for the neophytes or the aspirants who have just started on the spiritual path.All the transient pleasures derivable from the proper performance of all actions enjoined in the Vedas are comprehended in the infinite bliss of Selfknowledge.
