भोगैश्वर्यप्रसक्तानां तयापहृतचेतसाम् | व्यवसायात्मिका बुद्धिः समाधौ न विधीयते
bhogaiśvaryaprasaktānāṃ tayāpahṛtacetasām . vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ samādhau na vidhīyate
భోగైశ్వర్యములందు మిక్కిలి ఆసక్తి గలవారికి, ఆ (వేదవాక్కులచే) మనస్సులు అపహరింపబడినవారికి, నిశ్చయాత్మకమైన బుద్ధి (పరమాత్మయందు) సమాధిలో స్థిరపడదు.
One-pointed conviction does not become established in the minds of those who delight in enjoyment and affluence, and whose intellects are carried away by that (speech).
సుఖభోగాలకు, ఐశ్వర్యానికి అతుక్కుపోయిన వారికి మనస్సు స్థిరంగా ఉండదు. వారు ధ్యానం చేయలేరు, ఏకాగ్రత సాధించలేరు. వారి మనస్సు ఎల్లప్పుడూ సంపద, అధికారం సంపాదించే ప్రణాళికలతో అశాంతంగా ఉంటుంది. వారికి స్థిరమైన అవగాహన ఉండదు.
Those who cling to pleasure and power cannot have steadiness of mind. They cannot concentrate or meditate. They are ever busy in planning projects for the acisition of wealth and power. Their minds are ever restless. They have no poised understanding.
