ಕನ್ನಡ

ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ವಿಧದ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಗಳಿವೆ: ದೈವೀ ಮತ್ತು ಆಸುರೀ. ದೈವೀ ಸ್ವಭಾವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಓ ಪೃಥಾಪುತ್ರನೇ, ಆಸುರೀ ಸ್ವಭಾವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಕೇಳು.

English

In this world there are are two (kinds of) creation of beings: the divine and the demoniacal. The divine has been spoken of elaborately. Hear about the demoniacal from Me, O son of Prtha.

ವಿವರಣೆ — ಕನ್ನಡ

ಭಗವಂತನು ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಮುಖ್ಯ ರೀತಿಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ: ದೈವೀ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವರು ಮತ್ತು ಆಸುರೀ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವರು. ದೈವೀ ಗುಣಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ (ಅಧ್ಯಾಯ ೨, ೧೨, ೧೪ ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯದ ಮೊದಲ ಮೂರು ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ). ಈಗ ಭಗವಂತನು ಆಸುರೀ ಸ್ವಭಾವದ ಗುಣಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಇದರಿಂದ ಅರ್ಜುನನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ವಿವರಣೆಯು ಆಸುರೀ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.

ವಿವರಣೆ — English

The two divisions of created beings? the one divine and the other satanic? carry on their respective activities in accordance with their natural tendencies or traits.In the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad also you will find Verily there are two classes of the Creators creatures -- gods and demons (I.3.1).Bhutasargau Creations of beings? types or classes of creatues. Creation here means what is created. The men who are created with the two kinds of nature? the divine and the demonical? are here mentioned as the two creations. Every man in this world comes under the one or the other of the two creations? the divine and the demoniacal.Lord Krishna says to Arjuna? I will now describe to thee the characteristics of those men who are endowed with the devilish alities. If you have an understanding of the demoniacal alities? you will avoid them. The demoniacal nature is described in detail to the very end of this discourse.There is some reference in chapter IX? verses 9? 11 and 12? to the demoniacal nature but as the description is incomplete it is completed in this discourse.The divine nature has been declared in detail by the blessed Lord in the previous chapters -- the state of a Sthitaprajna in chapter II? the state of a Bhagavata in chapter XII and the state of a Trigunatita in chapter XIV and in the first three verses of this discourse.

16.1ಶ್ರೀ ಭಗವಂತನು ಹೇಳಿದನು: ನಿರ್ಭಯತೆ, ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಶುದ್ಧಿ, ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿರತೆ, ದಾನ, ಬಾಹ್ಯ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ, ಯಜ್ಞ, (ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳ) ಅಧ್ಯಯನ, ತಪಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ಸರಳತೆ;16.2ಅಹಿಂಸೆ, ಸತ್ಯಸಂಧತೆ, ಕ್ರೋಧವಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು, ತ್ಯಾಗ, ಆಂತರಿಕ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯದ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ, ಚಾಡಿ ಹೇಳದಿರುವುದು, ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದಯೆ, ಅಲೋಲುಪ್ತತ್ವ (ಆಸೆಯಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು), ಮೃದುತ್ವ, ನಾಚಿಕೆ, ಚಂಚಲತೆಯಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು;16.3ತೇಜಸ್ಸು, ಕ್ಷಮೆ, ಧೈರ್ಯ, ಶುದ್ಧಿ, ದ್ವೇಷವಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು, ಅತಿ ಅಭಿಮಾನವಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು – ಇವುಗಳು, ಓ ಭರತವಂಶದವನೇ, ದೈವೀ ಸ್ವಭಾವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಲು ಜನಿಸಿದವನ ಗುಣಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.16.4ಓ ಪೃಥಾಪುತ್ರನೇ, ದಂಭ, ದರ್ಪ, ಅಭಿಮಾನ, ಕ್ರೋಧ, ಪಾರುಷ್ಯ (ಕಠೋರತೆ) ಮತ್ತು ಅಜ್ಞಾನ – ಇವುಗಳು ಆಸುರೀ ಸ್ವಭಾವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಲು ಜನಿಸಿದವನ ಗುಣಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.16.5ದೈವೀ ಸ್ವಭಾವವು ಮೋಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ, ಆಸುರೀ ಸ್ವಭಾವವು ಬಂಧನಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ದುಃಖಿಸಬೇಡ, ಓ ಪಾಂಡುವಿನ ಪುತ್ರನೇ! ನೀನು ದೈವೀ ಸ್ವಭಾವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಲು ಜನಿಸಿದ್ದೀಯೆ.16.7ಆಸುರೀ ಜನರು ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ (ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು) ಮತ್ತು ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ (ಮಾಡಬಾರದದ್ದು) ಎರಡನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಶುದ್ಧಿ, ಸದಾಚಾರ ಅಥವಾ ಸತ್ಯ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.16.8ಅವರು ಲೋಕವು ಅಸತ್ಯ, ಆಧಾರರಹಿತ, ಮತ್ತು ಈಶ್ವರನಿಲ್ಲದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಕಾಮದಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾದ ಸಂಯೋಗದಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದೆ! ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ಕಾರಣವಿರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ?16.9ಈ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ನಷ್ಟಾತ್ಮರಾದ, ಅಲ್ಪಬುದ್ಧಿಯವರಾದ, ಉಗ್ರಕರ್ಮಿಗಳಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಅಹಿತರಾದ ಈ ಜನರು ಲೋಕದ ವಿನಾಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಬಲರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.16.10ತೃಪ್ತಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗದ ಕಾಮವನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿ, ದಂಭ, ಅಹಂಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಮದದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದವರಾಗಿ, ಮೋಹದಿಂದ ದುಷ್ಟ ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ, ಅಶುದ್ಧ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.16.11ಮರಣದವರೆಗೂ ಕೊನೆಗೊಳ್ಳದ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಚಿಂತೆಗಳಿಂದ ಆವೃತರಾಗಿ, ಕಾಮ್ಯ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ಭೋಗವೇ ಪರಮ ಗುರಿ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ, ಇದೇ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಎಂದು ದೃಢವಾಗಿ ನಂಬಿರುವವರು.
