आशापाशशतैर्बद्धाः कामक्रोधपरायणाः | ईहन्ते कामभोगार्थमन्यायेनार्थसञ्चयान्
āśāpāśaśatairbaddhāḥ kāmakrodhaparāyaṇāḥ . īhante kāmabhogārthamanyāyenārthasañcayān
سینکڑوں امیدوں کی زنجیروں میں جکڑے ہوئے، کام (ہوس) اور کرودھ (غصے) کے مکمل تابع، وہ خواہشات کے لطف کے لیے ناجائز طریقوں سے دولت جمع کرنے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں۔
Bound by hundreds of shackles in the form of hope, giving themselves wholly to passion and anger, they endeavour to amass wealth through foul means for the enjoyment of desirable objects.
وہ حسی لذتوں کے حصول کے لیے لوگوں کو قتل کرتے ہیں اور ان کی دولت لوٹ لیتے ہیں۔ وہ دولت صرف حسی لذت کے لیے جمع کرتے ہیں، نیک اعمال کے لیے نہیں۔ ان میں کوئی رحم نہیں ہوتا۔ وہ بہت ظالم ہوتے ہیں۔ وہ سینکڑوں امیدوں کی زنجیروں میں جکڑے ہوتے ہیں۔ وہ اپنے دلوں میں ہر قسم کی حسی اشیاء کی شدید خواہش رکھتے ہیں۔ ان کے ذہن میں طرح طرح کی خواہشات پیدا ہوتی ہیں۔ جب ان کی خواہشات پوری نہیں ہوتیں تو وہ غضبناک ہو جاتے ہیں۔ وہ ناجائز ذرائع سے دولت حاصل کرتے ہیں۔ امید یا توقع انسان کو سنسار کے چکر سے باندھ دیتی ہے۔ اس لیے امید کو رسی یا ڈوری سے تشبیہ دی گئی ہے۔ ان کی خواہشات کا کوئی انتہا نہیں ہوتی۔ اگرچہ ان کے پاس بے پناہ دولت ہوتی ہے، ان کی خواہشات پوری نہیں ہوتیں۔ وہ روزانہ بڑھتی رہتی ہیں۔ یہ لوگ لالچ کے بے بس شکار بن جاتے ہیں۔
They murder people and rob them of their wealth in order to have sensual enjoyments. They amass wealth for sensepleasure only? but not for doing righteous actions. They have no mercy. They are very cruel. They are held in bondage by a hundred ties of expectation. They harbour in their hearts a craving for all kinds of sensual objects. Various sorts of desires crop up in their mind. When their desires are not gratified they become furious. They acire wealth by unjust means. Hope or expectation binds a man to the wheel of Samsara.,Therefore hope is likened to a cord or a rope. There is no end to their cravings. Though they possess enormous wealth their cravings are not appeased. They multiply daily. These people become hopeless victims of greed.
