त्वमादिदेवः पुरुषः पुराणस्- त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम् | वेत्तासि वेद्यं च परं च धाम त्वया ततं विश्वमनन्तरूप
tvamādidevaḥ puruṣaḥ purāṇasa- tvamasya viśvasya paraṃ nidhānam . vettāsi vedyaṃ ca paraṃ ca dhāma tvayā tataṃ viśvamanantarūpa
അങ്ങ് ആദിദേവനാണ്, പുരാതനനായ പുരുഷനാണ്; ഈ പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിന്റെ പരമമായ ആശ്രയവും അങ്ങാണ്. അങ്ങ് അറിയുന്നവനും അറിയപ്പെടേണ്ടവനും പരമമായ ധാമവുമാണ്. അനന്തരൂപനായ അങ്ങയാൽ ഈ വിശ്വം മുഴുവൻ വ്യാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു!
You are the primal Deity, the ancient Person; You are the supreme Resort of this world. You are the knower as also the object of knowledge, and the supreme Abode. O You of infinite forms, the Universe is pervaded by You!
ഭഗവാൻ പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവായതുകൊണ്ട് ആദിദേവനാണ്. ശരീരത്തിൽ (പുരിയിൽ) വസിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് പുരുഷനാണ്. പ്രളയകാലത്ത് ലോകം ലയിക്കുന്ന ആശ്രയമാണ് നിധാനം. കുടം മണ്ണിൽ നിന്ന് വന്ന് മണ്ണിൽ ലയിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, ലോകം ഭഗവാനിൽ നിന്ന് വന്ന് ഭഗവാനിൽ ലയിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാൽ ഭഗവാൻ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ഉപാദാന കാരണമാണ്. അവിടുന്ന് അറിയേണ്ടവയെ അറിയുന്നവനാണ് (വേത്താ). ഭഗവാൻ സർവ്വജ്ഞനായതുകൊണ്ട് ലോകത്തെക്കുറിച്ചെല്ലാം അറിയുന്നു. അവിടുന്ന് ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ നിമിത്ത കാരണവുമാണ്. പരമമായ ധാമം എന്നാൽ വിഷ്ണുവിന്റെ പരമമായ വാസസ്ഥലം. കയർ പാമ്പിനെ വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, ബ്രഹ്മൻ അഥവാ വിഷ്ണു തന്റെ സച്ചിദാനന്ദ സ്വരൂപത്താൽ ഈ പ്രപഞ്ചം മുഴുവൻ വ്യാപിക്കുന്നു.
