श्रीभगवानुवाच | बहूनि मे व्यतीतानि जन्मानि तव चार्जुन | तान्यहं वेद सर्वाणि न त्वं वेत्थ परन्तप
śrībhagavānuvāca . bahūni me vyatītāni janmāni tava cārjuna . tānyahaṃ veda sarvāṇi na tvaṃ vettha parantapa
至福の主が言われた。「おお、アルジュナよ、私の多くの生が過ぎ去り、あなたもまたそうである。私はそれらすべてを知っているが、おお、敵を焼き尽くす者よ、あなたは知らない。」
The Blessed Lord said O Arjuna, many lives of Mine have passed, and so have yours. I know them all, (but) you know not, O scorcher of enemies!
あなたには直観的な知識がありません。過去の行為のために、あなたには智慧の眼が開かれていません。したがって、あなたの視力は限られており、前世を知ることができません。しかし、私は全知であるため、それらすべてを知っています。
You have no intuitional knowledge. The eye of wisdom has not been opened in you on account of your past actions. So your power of vision is limited and therefore you do not know your previous births. But I know them because I am omniscient.
