यस्त्वात्मरतिरेव स्यादात्मतृप्तश्च मानवः | आत्मन्येव च सन्तुष्टस्तस्य कार्यं न विद्यते
yastvātmaratireva syādātmatṛptaśca mānavaḥ . ātmanyeva ca santuṣṭastasya kāryaṃ na vidyate
しかし、アートマン（自己）のみに喜びを見出し、アートマンによって満足し、アートマンにおいてのみ満たされている人間には、なすべき義務は存在しない。
But that man who rejoices only in theSelf and is satisfied with the Self, and is contented only in the Self-for him there is no duty to perform.
真の賢者は、自身の幸福を外部の対象に依存しません。彼はアートマンにおいて完全に満たされ、自身の内なるアートマンの中に喜び、至福、そして満足を見出します。アートマンの知識を得たこのような賢者には、もはやなすべきことは何もありません。彼はすでにすべてのカルマ（行為）を終え、すべての欲望を満たし、完全な満足を得ています。
The sage does not depend on external objects for his happiness. He is ite satisfied with the Self. He finds his joy? bliss and contentment within his own Self. For such a sage who has knowledge of the Self? there is nothing to do. He has already done all actions. He has satisfied all his desires. He has complete satisfaction. (Cf.II.55).
