अच्छेद्योऽयमदाह्योऽयमक्लेद्योऽशोष्य एव च | नित्यः सर्वगतः स्थाणुरचलोऽयं सनातनः
acchedyo.ayamadāhyo.ayamakledyo.aśoṣya eva ca . nityaḥ sarvagataḥ sthāṇuracalo.ayaṃ sanātanaḥ
それは切ることも、燃やすことも、濡らすことも、乾かすこともできない。それは永遠にして遍在し、不動にして不変、そして太古より存在する。
It cannot be cut, It cannot be burnt, cannot be moistened, and surely cannot be dried up. It is eternal, omnipresent, stationary, unmoving and changeless.
アートマン（真我）は非常に微細であり、言葉や思考の及ばない領域にあります。この微細なアートマンを理解することは極めて困難であるため、クリシュナ神は様々な比喩や例を用いて、人々がその本質を把握できるよう、不死のアートマンの性質を説明しています。剣でアートマンを切り裂くことはできません。それは永遠であり、永遠であるゆえに遍在し、遍在するゆえに像のように安定しており、安定しているゆえに不動です。それは永続的であり、いかなる原因からも生じたものではなく、新しいものではなく、太古から存在します。
