音写

mahābhūtānyahaṃkāro buddhiravyaktameva ca . indriyāṇi daśaikaṃ ca pañca cendriyagocarāḥ

日本語

The great elements, egoism, intellect and the Unmanifest itself; the ten organs and the one, and the five objects of 感覚;

English

The great elements, egoism, intellect and the Unmanifest itself; the ten organs and the one, and the five objects of the senses;

解説 — 日本語

The クシェトラ and its modifications are described in this verse. The twentyfour principles of the Sankhya school of philosophy are mentioned here.Great elements Earth? water? fire? air and ether are so called because they pervade all modifications of matter. The elements here referred to are the subtle? not the gross ones.Egoism is the cause of the great elements. It is 自己arrogating principle. Intellect is the cause of egoism. The function of the intellect is determination. Buddhi is the faculty of determination. The cause of the intellect is the Unmanifested (which is the undifferentiated energy of the Lord). (Cf.VII.14 Daivi hyesha gunamayi mama maya duratyaya -- This divine illusion of Mine? caused by the alities? is difficult to cross over.) The above Nature is divided eightfold (Cf.VII.4).The ten senses are the five organs of 知識 (ears? skin? eyes? tongue and nose)? so called because they enable 心 to get 知識 of the external world? and the five organs of 行動 (hands? feet? mouth? anus and the generative organ)? so called because they perform 行動s.The one This is 心. This is the eleventh sense whose function is thinking and doubting (Sankalpa and Vikalpa).The five objects of 感覚 are sound? touch? form (colour)? taste and smell. These are the fivefol pastures of 感覚.All the great elements? egoism? intellect? 感覚 and mind are all absorbed in the Unmanifested at the time of the cosmic dissolution.Mind is Maya. Mind is Avidya (タマス(無知)). Mind is at the root of all activities. It gives strength to desires? fosters fear and builds castles in the air. It confers force on egoism and stimultates,aspirations. Every tendency has its origin in 心. It augments ラジャス(激情)s? gives strength to hope and awakens the sense of duality. It increases タマス(無知) and plunges 感覚 in the ocean of senseobjects. It creates distinctions and differences. It separates? divides and limits. It is a strong wall or an iron barrier that stands between the individual soul and the Absolute. It is this mind that has brought Brahman to the condition of the individual soul. It is the storehouse of error? cravings? doubt? delusion and タマス(無知). It is an everrevolving wheel that generates thoughts. It is a miraculous thoughtproducing machine. It creates at one moment. It destroys at the next moment.

13.1Swami Gambhirananda has not translated this sloka. Many editions of the Bhagavadgita do not contain this sloka, including the commentary by Sankaracharya. If this sloka is included, the total number of slokas in the Bhagavadgita is 701.13.2The Blessed Lord said O son of Kunti, this body is referred to as the 'クシェトラ'. Those who are versed in this call him who is conscious of it as the 'クシェトラジナ of the クシェトラ'.13.3And, O scion of the Bharata dynasty, under-stand Me to be the 'クシェトラジナ of the クシェトラ' in all the クシェトラs. In My opinion, that is 知識 which is the knowlege of th クシェトラ and the クシェトラジナ of the クシェトラ.13.4Hear from Me in brief about (all) that as to what that クシェトラ is and how it is; what its changes are, and from what cause arises what effect; and who He is, and what His powers are.13.5It has been sung of in various ways by the Rsis, separately by the different kinds [The different branches of Vedic texts.] of Vedic texts, and also by the rational and convicing sentences themselves which are indicatvie of and lead of Brahman.13.7Desire, repulsion, 幸福, sorrow, the aggregate (of body and organs), sentience, fortitude- this クシェトラ, together with its modifications, has been spoken of briefly.13.8Humility, unpretentiousness, non-injury, for-bearance, sincerity, service of the teacher, cleanliness, steadiness, control of body and organs;13.9Non-執着 with regard to objects of 感覚, and also absence of egotism; seeing the evil in 生, 死, old age, diseases and miseries;13.10Non-執着 and absence of fondness with regard to sons, wives, homes, etc., and constant eanimity of 心 with regard to the attainment of the desirable and the undesirable;13.11And unwavering devotion to Me with single-minded concentration; inclination to repair into a clean place; lack of delight in a crowd of people;
