The branches of that (樹), extending down-wards and upwards, are strengthened by the alities and have sense-objects as their shoots. The branches of that (Tree), extending down-wards and upwards, are strengthened by the alities and have sense-objects as their shoots. And the roots, which are followed by actions, spread down-wards in the human world [According to A.G. and M.S. manusya-loke means a body distinguished by Brahminhood etc.].

解説 — 日本語

The countless objects? large and small? which life needs are all products of the five elements through the activity of the alities. This 樹 of Samsara is nourished by the three alities of Nature. The senseobjects are its buds and the roots which grow downwards are the bonds of Karma for those who lead a life of ラジャス(激情) and 執着 in this world? who are under the sway of likes and dislikes. The sprouts of this marvellous 樹 are the charming objects of 感覚 with their characteristics of sound? touch? colour? taste and smell. The roots? the Karmic tendencies from the past lives? grow downwards to generate the bonds of Karma in the world of men. These roots strengthen the 束縛 by further 行動s.The primal root is タマス(無知) from which arises the eightfold Nature -- the five elements? mind? intellect and egoism. From the stem of the 樹 spring four branches called Svedaja? Andaja?,Jarayuja and Udbhijja. Eightyfour lakhs (eight million and four hundred thousand) of species came into being. One branch shoots straight upwards. This is the branch of Dharma which yields the fruit of enjoyment in heaven. Another branch is the branch of disラジャス(激情) which yields the fruit of Selfrealisation. The sun? the planets? the manes and the sages have also come out of this wonderful 樹. Above them are the branches of the worlds of Indra and the gods. Still higher are those of the sages and the men of austerities and penance. Still higher is the Satyaloka where Hiranyagarbha dwells. From man down to the immovable objects below and from him up to the realm of the Creator above? whatever regions are attained in accordance with the nature of 知識 or 行動? they are the ramifying branches of the 樹 of Samsara. They are nurtured and fattened by the three Gunas which form their material base. The senseobjects such as sound? touch? colour? taste and smell represent the buds that sprout from the branches of the physical bodies which are the products of 行動s.The highest root of this wondeful 樹 is Brahman. The secondary roots are the latent impressions (Samskaras) of likes and dislikes? which spread in this world of men and impel them to perform virtuus and vicious 行動s and bind them fast to 行動s.Now listen to the way by which this 樹 can be cut off. Only he who thus cuts his 束縛 to this 樹 of Samsara can be happy even in this world. He has the highest wisdom because he stands as a spectator of this 樹 and knows it as it is? without being tied to it.

The countless objects? large and small? which life needs are all products of the five elements through the activity of the alities. This tree of Samsara is nourished by the three alities of Nature. The senseobjects are its buds and the roots which grow downwards are the bonds of Karma for those who lead a life of passion and attachment in this world? who are under the sway of likes and dislikes. The sprouts of this marvellous tree are the charming objects of the senses with their characteristics of sound? touch? colour? taste and smell. The roots? the Karmic tendencies from the past lives? grow downwards to generate the bonds of Karma in the world of men. These roots strengthen the bondage by further actions. The primal root is ignorance from which arises the eightfold Nature -- the five elements? mind? intellect and egoism. From the stem of the tree spring four branches called Svedaja? Andaja?,Jarayuja and Udbhijja. Eightyfour lakhs (eight million and four hundred thousand) of species came into being. One branch shoots straight upwards. This is the branch of Dharma which yields the fruit of enjoyment in heaven. Another branch is the branch of dispassion which yields the fruit of Selfrealisation. The sun? the planets? the manes and the sages have also come out of this wonderful tree. Above them are the branches of the worlds of Indra and the gods. Still higher are those of the sages and the men of austerities and penance. 15.1The Blessed Lord said They say that the peepul 樹, which has its roots upward and the branches downward, and of which ヴェーダ are the leaves, is imperishable. He who realizes it is knower of ヴェーダ.15.3Its form is not perceived here in that way; nor its end, nor beginning, nor continuance, After felling this Peepul whose roots are well developed, with the strong sword of 無執着-;15.4Thereafter, that State has to be sought for, going where they do not return again: I take refuge in that Primeval Person Himself, from whom has ensued the eternal Manifestation.15.5賢者たち ones who are free from pride and non-discrimination, who have conered the evil of association, [Hatred and love arising from association with foes and friends.] who are ever devoted to spirituality, completely free from desires, free from the dualities called 幸福 and sorrow, reach that undecaying State.15.6Neither the sun nor the moon nor fire illumines That. That is My supreme Abode, reaching which they do not return.15.7It is verily a part of Mine which, becoming the eternal individual soul in the region of living beings, draws (to itself) the organs which have 心 as their sixth, and which abide in Nature.15.8When the master leaves it and even when he assumes a body, he departs taking these, as wind (carries away) odours from their receptacles.15.9This one enjoys the objects by presiding over the ear, eyes, skin and tongue as also the nose and 心.15.10Persons who are diversely deluded do not see it even when it is leaving or residing (in this body), or experiencing, or in association with the alities. Those with the eye of 知識 see.15.11And the yogis who are diligent see this one as existing in themselves. The non-discriminating ones who lack self-control do not see this one-though (they be) diligent.
